Story Behind The Song
Junior Murrell has once again, produced a fine cover, with that of James Brown's famous "Try Me"; always a favorite of mine. Thanks J!
Song Description
One of James Brown's most celebrated songs, "Try Me", was released in September of 1958, and has been an R&B classic for decades. I've loved this song always! Some friends and I, had the wonderful opportunity to experience James Brown and The Famous Flames in Phoenix, Arizona, and was totally blown away by his energy and his tenderness. I remember my father would pass by my bedroom door and say, "Turn that screaming down!", and I would say, "But Dad, this is when he's really getting into the music.".......which, most often, fell on deaf ears. Didn't matter to me what he said, I had all of his music, and love the older ones the most!
