Story Behind The Song
I originally wrote & recorded this in 2009 (all me), finished it in 2011 when I was 25 years sober. I am now 34 years sober>>half my life. My life is good so I thought it was time this song sounded good.

Better Way

There's a long road, lyin' in wait for me, time to move along, gotta get life up to speed.
Like small child, waitin' for a dream, I'll be lookin' for what's lookin' back at me.
CH 1
There's been many times I left here for no reason
Many times I had a reason but I stayed
But for all the times I ran back to that bottle now
I'll just keep prayin' till I find a better way
V2
I can't hide, inside his prison, I can't run around or jump out of the way
Wasted loves, so many women, too many nights forgotten, lost inside the haze
CH 2
There's been many times I left here for no reason
Many times I had a reason but I stayed
But for all the times I ran back to that bottle now
I'll just keep prayin' till I find a better way
Lead Break
Bridge 1
'Cause I've been hard-pressed for answers
I been out-guessed, by them all
As I look around at all of my disasters
I'll just keep prayin' 'cause it's out of my control
Bridge 2
When I think about the mem'ries of what used to be,
Still ridin' on the rivers of my soul,
It's the pain and it's the comfort of my yesterday,
I'll just keep prayin' 'cause it's out of my control
CH 3
There's been many times I've left here for no reason
Many times I had a reason but I stayed
But for all the times I ran back to that bottle now
I'll just keep prayin' till I find a better way
I'll keep prayin' till I find a better way
