Story Behind The Song
Tony had this title and it struck me that a hit song could be written with it. so, we went to work on it and came up with "Redneck Ridge."
It is actually a complimentary commentary on rednecks and how what one perceives is not always the way things really are.
Song Description
As with most of us, the people in this song are affected deeply by their upbringing. They are proud of their heritage and do everything they can to protect it while passing it down from generation to generation.

Lyrics
Redneck Ridge by Glenn Warren and Tony Glenn Rast
Down across the river by the county line...
There's a one-lane bridge with a "Keep Out" sign;
Nobody but a fool would cross that bridge...
They say you never come back from Redneck Ridge;
She caught my eye at the picture show;
We fell in love in the very last row;
She said, "Drive me home?" I said, "Where do you live?..."
She said, "Down across the river on Redneck Ridge;"
Chorus: The only way out is the only way in...
If you ain't a resident, you'd better be kin...
Or don't dare cross that one-lane bridge...
Strangers ain't welcome on Redneck Ridge.
When I drove her home, I got ready to fight...
When her brothers and her daddy stepped out in the night;
They said, "Boy, can you whip us?" I said, "I'm gonna try;"
When they busted out laughing, I got ready to die...
They said
Chorus: The only way out is the only way in...
If you ain't a resident, you'd better be kin...
Or don't dare cross that one-lane bridge...
Strangers ain't welcome on Redneck Ridge.
Many years later, got a daughter of our own;
She just called up on the picture-show phone;
She said, "He says he loves me...How'm I gonna know?"
I said, "Tell him where you live and have him drive you home."
Chorus: The only way out is the only way in...
If you ain't a resident, you'd better be kin...
Or don't dare cross that one-lane bridge...
Strangers ain't welcome on Redneck Ridge.
We've got a piece of Heaven on Redneck Ridge;
It's our own little secret on Redneck Ridge.
