Story Behind The Song

I originally started out with a music video concept that came to me in a dream. From there I created "Lightning" to fit the mood of the video. I ended up creating a sexy R&B track that is about sharing that special moment with the person you love. Without over-sexualizing it, I think making it more of a metaphor and letting the listener make their own assumption about it really worked well for what I was trying to accomplish. I also added some thunder sound effects to the beginning and end of the song to really play on the title of the song.

Song Description

Lightning is about an intimate moment with someone you are currently seeing or spending alone time with. It all plays on metaphors leaving the person listening to interpret however he/she likes. I wanted to make a sexy song without throwing sex in the listener's face, to leave something to the imagination. It brings to life the emotions one may feel when experiencing that intimate moment.
