I Died Too Young

Story Behind The Song

Damon sent me the music to this track and instantly I was drawn to it. I saw Chris Cornell, Layne Stayley, Kurt Cobain and other singers we have lost early over the years and I wrote the chorus instantly. As I began writing the song I thought that this message doesn't just apply to popular musicians. It applies to everyone to include myself. I have lived so many years not pursuing my passion of creating music or doing what I love and as a result I have not felt complete. I thought of my dad, my friends, strangers, etc. In the end, I felt anyone who is not living their passion could identify with this song.

Lyrics

I Died Too Young

I sit alone
Heart turn to stone
I lost my hope
I have no faith

I have so much
It's not enough
I must confess
My head's a mess

I died too young
My Passion gone
Where did I go wrong

Only think about myself
Don't care what anyone says
I just talk to myself
I ain't got nobody left

I've never been that strong
Never learned how to be loved
Never felt like I was enough
Never felt like I belonged

I died too young
My Passion gone
Where did I go wrong

I died too young
My Passion gone
Where did I go wrong

It's time to live

Solo

I died too young
My Passion gone
Where did I go wrong

It's time to live

Thank you for delivering a solid rock track-The lead vocals suit the track perfectly and the band is professional and tight- Great work overall !!!

The production is thick and tasty from the start - it is perched and ready as a song in a film soundtrack. Some really nice dynamics in the track - The crashing crunchy guitar hits me right in the spot. Overall I like the song a lot - something just enough familiar with a newness.

Very soulful and introspective piece with really good instrumentation and really stirring vocals. Puts you very much to mind of some of the really good classic rock and hard rock bands of the 70's.

great vocal tone. i like the guitar tone. good riffage for sure. i like how it drives the song. powerful chords. nicely placed bass tone. bells are cool. reverse audio part is well placed also. tasty solo. good technique

This song hits the nail on the head...the despair of a young person who hasn't found his way. Backed up by an awesome band that musically expresses the angst of the vocalist, this track is a masterfully executed (I say this as a compliment) nightmare. The guitar licks are amazing, really expressing the hopeless despair/lostness/anger of the singer. I think this song would really be popular among the 15-25 year old population. They have so much...but so little.

There's a cool interplay between the guitar and keyboard parts. The structure is solid. The guitar, bass, and drum parts are interesting, and I like the rocking rhythm of the bridge/solo. It provides a nice contrast to the verse and chorus. There are definitely some impressive guitar parts during the solo. Solid drumming. The vocals are strong and on key throughout. The lyrics fit the tone of the song and are relatable. Nice work!

It was nice to review a good song. Love the layering of the instrumentation and the vocals fit the song very well. I like the tempo shifts and enjoyed the variance in the song. The impact the artist was going for has been delivered. Rock out!

Gritty sound works well. Should get a lot of placements with this theme.

Interesting Start I like the guitar weaving back and forth. Good mixing Nice balance!
