Story Behind The Song
My wife was going Texas to support her best friend whose grandmother was dying. When I asked where in Texas she lives, my wife replied, "Comfort" And I said to myself, "she's going to die in Comfort!" And after being beside Family and Friends who have passed away, thats all any of them really wanted in the end.
Song Description
A conversation between God and a person ending life's long journey. Wishing to have all the things that matter in life beside them when its time to leave this world. Introspective and prayer like vocals about family and a long life, well lived. Soft Violin and Dobro highlights give this song a hauntingly warm Country feel, add to that a heart wrenching guitar solo that leads to a fading last wish.

Lyrics
Die in Comfort
Lord its been a long road
and its been a good long life
with plenty of pot holes and bridges and many a heavy load
You know I've tried my best Lord cause you've been here with me
now please Lord listen to me
and grant this wish to me
(Chorus)
Let me die in comfort
with my family beside me
kiss my brow and hold my hand tell me it's alright
and let me die in comfort tonight
Families get so busy
but I've been slowing down memories keep us together
so pass a few around
I know I've asked for so much And you've been good to me Please Lord listen one more time, and grant this wish to me
(Chorus)
Let me die in comfort
with my family beside me
kiss my brow and hold my hand tell me it's alright
and let me die in comfort tonight
