After recent airplay on BBC 1xtra & a feature spot on the station's podcast, host Ras Kwame hailed Sarah as more soulful & funky than those Lily Allen & Kate Nash types. Asides the distinctly British accent that drew the comparison, SWW's creativity is more comparable to US singer-songwriters Fiona Apple or Regina Spektor & the Jazz-tinged Soul of Erykah Badu.
SWW's craft was learnt playing piano classically until the age of 14 when introduced to the joys of music sequencing. From then on, as well as the piano, her bedroom became a musical sanctuary where she could make up all kinds of mini Pop anthems about boys.
Further studies in music & 3 years gigging have helped to develop Sarah's unique style. Her songs are carefully created patchworks of inventive & rhythmical timbres, centered around an honest & warm voice. The self-entitled 'Alternative Soul' creations carry themselves tall amongst London's live circuit with a natural strength & originality not to be missed.
