A little about Claire

Claire Simone spent 13 years performing as solo artist, recording, and appearing as a featured artist and back-up singer/harmonist with many groups. She has also performed with a number of 'Big Bands', and performed at major musical events such as Brecon Jazz Festival.

In the development of her unique vocal style, Simone took her cues from such greats as: Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin, Jocelyn Brown, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Chaka Kahn and Etta James.

At this point in her musical career, Simone is producing her own solo material, and collaborating with musicians such as Van Morrison's former Sax player Lee Goodall on recording projects.

As witnessed on her new CD "Burning", aside from stepping into the spotlight as a formidable, solo vocalist, Simone exhibits her talent as an adept lyricist having pinned the lusty title song, "Burning" along with "Feel the Beat" and "Life is a Rehersal".
